MOAB UTAH. One of my favorite places on EARTH. I shot this engagement session and I was SO pumped, because everything lined up so perfectly. The weather, the lighting, very few people to photoshop out, LOL, IT WAS MAGIC. I can’t wait to be back here to photograph. March 2020 UP NEXT IM coming for you! My extremely cheesy title deserves an applause. 👏 👏 I just love these two. I met them in Yosemite, California and ended up doing a shoot with them in their cute hiking attire. We then met up in Naples, Italy and Andreá showed us around his home town and favorite restaurants. They live in Paris, where we got to go to the Pont Alexandre iii bridge and get a beautiful view of the Eiffel tower in the background. We got to watch the tower sparkle a few times, which made my heart SOAR. These are just some favorite photo highlights of the photoshoot. Such a beautiful cold crisp December evening. I miss Paris already, i’ll be back soon!!
Pompeii. Food for thought.
I had the chance to wander around Ancient city of Pompeii by myself for a few hours and wow. I walked around silently at first, reading posters and learning a little more history. And then I listened to Preliator by Globus the rest of the time... (A very strong ancient epic song) and thought about these people that lived here during the destruction in 79 AD... We are learning from these people more 2000 years later. I’m sure so many of them asked why this was happening to them? Why would their gods let this happen? But…maybe it’s for us. Maybe they died so we could understand them, to understand ourselves better. The human race is so beautiful. The human race is intelligent and brave... but oh so similar in our emotions, and we always have been. How long we can fight, how long we can brave the intensity of destruction. Their world was devastated and destroyed by a volcano. In this instance, for the people of Pompeii, it was volcanic lava the destroyed them. But some food for though.. what is your lava? What is your volcanic ash destroying and burying you? In a metaphorical term, of course. I had these thoughts while walking around this ancient city… it was a rather riveting experience to be completely in my head and to myself.
Journal Prompt I did while walking around… “What am I learning from these people? What should I learn?”
We are all born into our status in life…right. Whatever our parents have, we have. But we aren’t deemed there forever. We can change. If you were born into a family that is poor, doesn’t mean you have to stay poor. But back then it was different, if you were a servant... always a servant. If you were born as royalty, you were always royalty. You can be whoever you want to be and whoever you choose in todays time. How rare and a precious thing we take for granted. I am learning that I need to show gratitude in my life, all areas. First, to be born to such a wonderful family and to wonderful parents who have shaped me into an amazing person. And to be grateful for all the scary, all the anxiety and all the emotions I experience. We have a very black and white mindset of good and bad and I’m learning to just put everything in the middle and overwhelm it with a light and love that is warm and accepting.
I learned that we all give up. We all give up at some point. Pompeii was preserved under calcified layers of ash. About 3/4 of Pompeii's 165 acres have been excavated, and some 1,150 bodies have been discovered out of an estimated 2,000 thought to have died in the disaster. But these bodies were found crying in agony or praying. (See photos below) So which person do I want to be? A surrender or die fighting? And in what way is that shameful or empowering? Is it empowering to fight to the very end? Or is it better to pray to the one you believe in for help, maybe a last sign of devotion? I do not know the answer… but I know that these questions made me think. Each pose that I saw… the last movement of a human being... it brought different emotions. Maybe sympathy or maybe their pain? I wondered what thoughts they were thinking… their last thoughts.
I want to challenge you to dive into your soul a little deeper today… ask yourself some of these questions and really take a minute or two to ponder about this part in our world’s history and what you can learn from it. Oh, and don’t forget to keep scrolling and enjoy some of the pictures from Pompeii + Mt. Vesuvius.
Rome is so beautiful. It has the feelings of chaos and calm and scary and beautiful and spiritual and I could go on and on. This city has lit me up like I have never been lit. I am in awe and in love with Rome.
But one thing that was pointed out to me while in Rome was that all the couples are very romantic and sensual and open with their feelings towards one another and there is no shame in their affection.
A small section I wrote in my journal on the 3rd day in Rome was this:
“The couples all have a very open sensual, but also super playful. I saw a middle aged couple (40s) on these stairs and the man picked up the woman underneath her butt and and carried her down a few and then pretended to toss her and she was giggling and laughing and then they went into kissing each other and sat down and just started making out on these stairs. Everyone just loves to touch. This other couple I was standing behind, he just kept rubbing her back and shoulders and butt. Like not a small touch. A pat and rub and all over, completely touching loving. Right there in the streets. And she just nuzzled into him. Touch is delightful here. It’s rejoiced and welcomed. Nothing about it is shameful. But I do recognize that they have a fine line where they touch, just to touch. And then touch to be sexually turned on. Every few moments I’ll notice someone kissing their significant other on the cheek or forehead and it’s so special. Or you’ll see a couple making out passionately. Romance is alive here, definitely.”
I know that for me, I always think of the “honeymoon phase” as this. But here, at least in Rome, all ages are welcome to openly express their affection towards each other and it is NATURAL and COMMON. Now, it might be welcome and open to express anywhere in the world. But in my opinion, Italy holds no shame in their sensuality. and Romance. They take precious care in moments happening and enjoy it 10000%. They take joy in moments and not in the destinations. I know the formal family shots you need, bridal party shots that are fun and lively, I know ever good angle and how to work with all lighting, everything is covered when you hire me. I am your fly on a wall at a reception capturing the moments you don’t get to see cause the NIGHT IS BUSY. I capture the candid, the traditional and untraditional moments. I know how to be loud for group shots and quiet for tender moments.
5.) I’m your friend. My goal is not only to be your wedding photographer, but your friend. I will HYPE YOU UP! I am there to remind you to sit down and breathe, take your heels off. I can’t believe I am JUST posting about this wedding. This is by far, one of my favorites. Dreamy venue and even dreamier couple. We got along so good, honestly kept screaming we found each other and I’m so obsessed with my brides and my grooms!! They are so darling!! We had so much fun climbing up on couches and standing on chairs on top of the couches for these dress shots, haha!! When Taya told Gage how much she loved him because of how much he loved her, he choked back some emotions, as did I. Truly just meant to be. Taya’s mom took one look in the mirror at Taya and just lost it, so did Taya, so did her sister, so did I. We were all a mess at her bridal session just a few weeks before. If you’re an emotional bride, I already love you and will 100% be crying with you. I want to relive this day all over again! Every part, so emotional and so fun. Enjoy some of my favorites!
Oh my heck!! Yosemite has it all. SO many clouds, a blue sky, we got BLESSED for this elopement! They danced, held each other and watched the beautiful sky together. And LOOK AT HIS OUTFIT. No one ever said you had to get married in a suit. 😉 Your wedding day is just that, YOUR wedding day!! If you’re having mixed feelings about eloping, I say do it. Go somewhere pretty. Go somewhere that makes you feel emotional. Big, yet small. Go somewhere that you can come back to for anniversaries and have equally, and even better experiences!! Yosemite is just an option, in a world with so many. ♥️
Absolutely dying over these. I drove down from the top of Utah, like tip tip top, Logan Utah. And drove down to Yosemite, California in one day and it was insane. (14+ hours) Got to my AIRBNB at like 11PM and woke up the next morning at 3AM, haha! Made it to Half dome and was basically screaming when I saw what was before me. What a magical morning. What a magical couple. I am beyond in love with Yosemite. The feelings there are so insane and true to my soul. Please enjoy these photos. ♥️

Mood today. I love using my blog as a way to breathe MYSELF. For myself as an artist, but especially for the artist within. The artist that rarely sees the light of day. The artist that pushes me, drives me, inspires me. I believe we all get inspired by others around us, but we are most inspired by ourselves. We are inspired by our sadness, our fears and anxieties. I totally do not romanticize mental illnesses. I do not think it is beautiful to hate yourself. It is beautiful to LOVE yourself. It is beautiful to overcome. But the point is, WE are it. Ultimately, at the end of the day, you make your own decisions. You choose to be suppressed by the world or if you sore. You choose to be positive or negative, every day. So, this is the mood today. My artist inside is aching to breathe, to sing, to create. I want to inspire ME. I want to keep loving ME. What does your inner artist want? What are you craving? What do you need? What do you want? And how are you getting it?

I always get asked either right before someone books their session with me or after, “So I have no idea where I want my pictures at, I just want something unique and pretty!” Location is HUGE when it comes to your photo session. Whatever session it may be, portrait or bridal, you want something that pops! That makes someone go “WOW!” Well that is what the salt flats are to me. Yes, everyone and their dog shoots there. (heheh, true.) but it is A WOW location, and you can almost always go where no one else is cause it is massive out there in the middle of nowhere (seriously, almost two hours from SLC. hahah) It is BEAUTIFUL. And oh so worth the drive.
There is ALWAYS beautiful lighting here too. Crazy harsh sunlight, golden hour, soft lit, blue hour and finally some dark/flash ones. SO WORTH the crazy light differences in just an hour and a half. INsANE- go check this formal session out!!
In my opinion...
A clearer picture of themselves. Everyone's perception is so different, especially about themselves.
So I would choose to help them see their self, not only the way that I see them... but the way their creator sees them, people that look up to them the most, the people that dream and love on them without their knowledge. Being seen through the eyes of those that know your worth, value and significance is a gift that only every single person dreams of. (Amirite?)
I dream of it. I wish to be seen. I wish to be seen for being creative. For having opinions. For dressing the way I dress. For doing the things I do. It doesn’t motivate me… but it does motivate a lot of people. I wish to be seen…and not romantically, but by the world. Isn’t that weird? We long for acceptance.. but by everyone? If you were accepted or seen by one or two people would you be satisfied? Would you be completely okay to surrender and live your life with NO more guilty looks around a room to see if anyone sees you? I mean you might be okay, and even completely okay. I am, sometimes. Because duh, confidence. But not everyone has confidence. Not everyone is willing to voice themselves, be opinionated and say I"‘LL BE OKAY IF SHE/HE DOESN’T LIKE ME” And like you, as in a human being. Do you feel like you’re liked? Would you be okay if you were never liked? What would happen if someone didn’t like you? Could you handle that?
Yes, we should spread love. Yes, we should spread acceptance. But we should also spread boldness and bravery to withstand hate, and withstand rejection. And not only withstand it, but use it to our advantage. Bad vibes can be turned into good vibes by the receiver. We can take hate and give them love. We can take rejection and give them acceptance. We can fight for our worth. We can fight for our value and significance as a person. If someone doesn’t like you, or even extends an act of hatred towards you, can you accept it lovingly? Can you let it burn you brighter rather than extinguish you? Can you take bad and turn it into good?
Take that. Love hate. Love rejection. Love fear. Because it turns into the brightest flames, if you let it.
And show up, today. Fight for your fire and your flame, but also fight for someone else. Give someone the gift of being seen. Every dang time YOU want to be negative, reject someone, burn or extinguish someone else’s flame… stop. And see them, as you would want to be seen. So…
See someone, because they are worth being seen.
Tell someone they're worth it! Because they are!
And choose to see someone today and tell them they are valued, loved and seen. They deserve it, you deserve it and the world deserves it.
Creativity is a lifestyle. What does that even mean? Does it mean being creative here and there isn’t a thing? Or catching a creative shot once means you’re creative all the time? No. Creativity being a lifestyle means that it is pressing on your heart and soul all the time. I believe creativity is within everyone. Just how good is in everyone and just how bad is in everyone. (But that’s totally a different topic) Creativity is within you, within me and within your next door neighbor. It might not be YOUR type of creativity, but it is a type of creativity.
Now what? You’re saying there’s different types of creativity? Well, sure! There’s a creative baker or a creative surgeon, a creative artist or even a creative photographer. ;) Anything can be creative. Creative means “relating to or involving the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work.” So YOUR OWN. Unique. A true artist’s work. You. Are. An. Artist. You just have to figure out what kind. Creativity is a lifestyle… so find your life. Find your creative. Find your dream and let it be YOURS.

Dreamiest couple. Took them a few decades to find each other, but they feel so at ease with each other. They both just know they were meant to be together. How pure and profound is that. The salt flats are a Utah Destination and this was no exception. It gave us the most beautiful lighting! Joni sure enjoyed licking her salt too. ;) It’s a drive, but worth the view and feeling. Exceptional shoot!! I enjoyed getting to know these two better and their love story. Turns out he got a real good talk from her dad, as it should be. ;)
These two were so easy to help pose and they were willing to do anything for a good shot! Not only that, they are so in love. So happy for these two. Their wedding will be a day of happiness for sure. <3

Isabelle and Seth are the sweetest human beings! They are such a perfect match. They couldn't stop teasing and showing their huge amount of love for each other during the entire session.
